It's Your Business Lead it

Influence: The Power Tool of Effective Leaders

Episode Summary

This cast begins a series of practical tools on how you can become an influential leader. You really don't want to be the leader who constantly concedes, "we will just have to agree to disagree". No leaders must have the skill to gain the cooperation and motivation of others. If they cannot do this, they literally aren't leading, they are just carrying around a shiny powerful title. Although this series promises to be at least 24 casts long, im going to brea it up into chunks. We will start with foundational approaches, then shift to psychological ones, this will be followed by rhetorical approaches and finally advanced techniques. this will be a "how to" series you don't want to miss. In this first cast we lay a foundation on good ole Aristotle and his persuasion model of Ethos - Logos - Pathos. I will walk you through the importance of each of these elements and how to use them in your efforts to influence.

Episode Notes

There are several references I will mention in our exploration of influence. The first and most important belongs to my mentor Dr Stephen Covey. This deep rich leadership book has one of the most comprehensive cioverages of influence principles I have ever found.
